The Trust for Public Land (TPL)
The Trust for Public Land is a national nonprofit organization that conserves land for people to enjoy as parks, gardens, and other natural places, ensuring livable communities for generations to come. Since 1972, TPL has completed close to 4,000 conservation projects in 47 states, protecting 2.8 million acres. In Los Angeles County, TPL has protected more than 12,000 acres. Signature projects include acquiring the "Cornfields" property for the Los Angeles State Historic Park, creating pocket parks along the Los Angeles River, and preserving the 483-acre Ballona Wetlands. www.tpl.org


Tom LaBonge, City of Los Angeles Councilman, 4th district
Since 2001, LaBonge has been a member of the Los Angeles City Council representing the 4th district, which encompasses diverse income levels and neighborhoods. City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks
Operated and run by the city of Los Angeles, the Department of Recreation and Parks maintains and operates more than 390 sites for recreational use. The Department establishes, operates and maintains parks, swimming pools, public golf courses, recreation centers, museums, child care centers, youth camps, tennis courts, sports programs and programs for senior citizens. www.laparks.org


Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy (SMMC)
Established by the California State Legislature in 1980, the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy has helped to preserve over 60,000 acres of parkland in both wilderness and urban settings, and improved more than 114 public recreational facilities throughout Southern California. SMMC provides grants to nonprofit organizations for educational and interpretation programs, serving hundreds of thousands of children and other park visitors. www.smmc.ca.gov


Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority (MRCA)
Formed in 1985 as a local partnership between the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy and the Conejo Recreation and Park District, the MRCA preserves and manages local open space and parkland, watershed lands, trails, and wildlife habitat, provides ranger services for almost 60,000 acres of public lands, and provides comprehensive education and interpretation programs for the public. www.mrca.ca.gov


Los Angeles Parks Foundation
Established as a California not-for-profit to support the objectives of the City of Los Angeles Recreation and Parks Department, the Los Angeles Parks Foundation's mission is to enhance, preserve and expand the recreational opportunities and facilities of our over 400 city parks that serve all the people of Los Angeles. www.laparksfoundation.org


The Hollywood Sign Trust
The Hollywood Sign Trust is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to physically maintain, repair and secure the Hollywood Sign. The Trust also educates the world about the sign's historical and cultural importance and raises the funds necessary to accomplish these projects. www.hollywoodsign.org


Hollywood Chamber of Commerce
Formed in October 1921 to replace the old Hollywood Board of Trade, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce works to promote and enhance the business, cultural and civic well-being of Hollywood.
